Training for Supervisors
Each employer shall ensure that all persons designated to supervise drivers receive at least 60 minutes of training on alcohol misuse and receive at least an additional 60 minutes of training on controlled substances use. The training will be used by the supervisors to determine whether reasonable suspicion exists to require a driver to undergo testing under §382.307. The training shall include the physical, behavioral, speech, and performance indicators of probable alcohol misuse and use of controlled substances. Recurrent training for supervisory personnel is not required.

The Manager Compliance Training Department Course fulfills
the requirements of 49 CFR 382.603

ONLINE LEARNING and LIVE LEARNING include identical instructional material. They are completely similar.

Both the online training and the live training are fully compliant with the DOT’s mandatory drug and alcohol awareness training.

The online training is a two-hour presentation with voiceover. Once you register, you simply log in and begin the training. You will be able to fully customize your training schedule and pause it if necessary.

Live training takes place at various locations around the country. They include exactly the same material as the online training. The only difference is that the live training is taught by a lecturer. To find out the date and location of your next training, please click on “Register Now.”

TRAINING INCLUDES

Every manager should know what factors to look for if an employee is unavailable and what to do about it. Managers will learn why and when they should screen employees on reasonable suspicion.

  • An employee refuses to take the test

  • Employees who leave the workplace on their own, finding themselves unable to perform their duties
